The 4 Idols :D

Idols of The Tribe
This is when an individual assumes something to be true, or develops a new idea based on whatever is new and interesting out there. This is like all of sudden hearing a new cool and theory and evolution, and then just automatically believing it because, it seems fresh and interesting to you.
Idols of the Cave
This is when some creates there own biases based on what has been taught to them through the educational system
Idols of the Marketplace
This is when a certain language that someone uses [most of the time in philosophy] forces you think one way. For instance, in some cases, philosophers care more about just winning the argument then actually making valid points.
Idols of the Theatre
This idols deal with the fact that the Church only acknowlegesna couple of greek scholars. By doing this, Christians are limited to a very few number of philosophers and they're missing out on the rest of the great ideas in the world.

[im sorry Mr B, but this is what I think of whenever i think of idols] haha

Galileo's Daughter

Galileo's daughter is not often spoken of in History books but, she is essential to her father. In his older years, Galileo was a sickly man, and his daughter brought him medicine, which in turn kept him alive. She was very advanced for her time in the ways that she thought to prepare medicine. For instance, she used honey to stick to different substances together, almost like a pill. Also, while Galileo was writing his book, he would mail his daughters drafts and she would edit him and return them to him. She helped him write and to assemble his manuscripts. Without his daughter, Galileo probably wouldn't have lived long enough to make the great discoveries that he did.
